A large contingent of Minnesota US Soccer supporters will be making their way to Chicago over the next two days for the USA vs. Honduras CONCACAF Hexagonal World Cup Qualifier on Saturday at Soldier Stadium in Chicago Illinois. Some will be flying and others like yours truly will be driving or sharing a ride with friends. We have a couple of vans that will be departing the Twin Cities early on Friday morning to stop at the Norske Nook. The Norske Nook in Osseo is now a tradition amongst many of us soccer supporters who drive to Wisconsin or Illinois. They have amazing pies and their breakfasts are a steal and the food is excellent. How about some Norwegian Pancakes (very thin and delicate) topped with lingonberries and real whipped cream. Yumm!
We will then make our way to the Windy City to catch the Chicago Fire vs the Houston Dynamo. On Saturday morning we may take in some of Chicago’s culture and Saturday afternoon it’s tailgating at the Waldron deck at Soldier Field with the American Outlaws and Sam’s Army. If you’re from MN and are looking to hook up with other Minnesotans, please look for us at the Waldron Deck before the game on Saturday. There will be a lot of us wearing these shirts which you will be able to purchase in the near future. The trefoil logo is taken from the historic civil war 1st brigade volunteers and tuned into a shield. Mazamba is partially underwriting these.
More info to come on these fantastic shirts.
Look for us, and please introduce yourselves. It should be a great time.
Posting will be spotty at best this weekend and there will be no USL Week in Review this weekend. IMS is taking a break and going to enjoy some MLS and US National Team football. Hope to see you in Chi Town.
