Minnesota State High School Soccer Rankings for 9-24-12

Records and personal bests have been set by both players and coaches in this year’s Minnesota State High School Leagues soccer season. Pete Hayes, who is in his 25th year as head coach for the Anoka boys soccer team, notched his 300 career win on September 4th.

State soccer standout Jenna Roering scored the quickest goal in her school’s history in a 3-1 Centennial win over Mounds View on September 8th. Roering scored her goal just nine seconds into the match.

Minneapolis South’s Elliot Cassutt, whom IMS has written numerous stories about after breaking the state scoring record (46 goals) in his sophomore year, scored 10 goals in a single game in a 18-0 shellacking of Minneapolis Henry on September 18th.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) released their coaches poll on Sunday night, September 23rd. The short Minnesota high school soccer season is nearing completion with only two full weeks left of regular season play. This year’s elite teams are showing their superiority by rising to the top of their conferences and are being rewarded with rankings from MSHSL coaches.

The Ranking is based on 4 separate polls conducted by the MSHSSCA who ask coaches within each gender and class to vote on teams in that same classification.
