Zlatan’s Outburst Proves His Mentality At LA Galaxy

When he came over to the United States to play in the MLS with LA Galaxy, everyone knew that there was a very good chance he would do some big things in the league. Now, as the team captain in just his second season, it’s clear for everyone to see that the Swede’s arrival in Los Angeles was one of the best things that has ever happened to the Galaxy.

We are, of course, referring to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The European veteran has quite literally been there and done it all in this game, and he isn’t afraid to let you know about that fact. He has played for some of the best clubs in world football today, and with every single one he has been able to find success. He has made believers out of his many doubters, and that will likely be his lasting legacy as we look ahead to the final few years of his career.

Last night we saw Zlatan put on yet another fantastic display to lift LA to a 2-0 win over Philadelphia Union. Both of his strikes came in the first half, and after managing to keep a clean sheet in the second half, Galaxy were able to hold on and move up to 3^rd place in the Western Conference as they go in search of a place in the play-offs (and also go after their city rivals LAFC).

Getting the job done

However, as reported by MLS Soccer, Ibra wasn’t particularly pleased once the final whistle had blown and it was all said and done at the weekend. From the outside looking in this probably came across as a really well polished and professional performance, but there’s more to this than meets the eye.

“After two seconds we almost conceded one goal, so either everybody wasn’t on the same side or we relaxed, and that cannot happen, because when you go out and relax, you get punished. And when you get punished, it’s difficult to come back. Lucky we were 2-up this time, but this cannot happen. We cannot relax like this, and we have to keep going.”

There are two very obvious sides in which you can look at this from, but at the end of the day, it seems like Zlatan is starting to really build a connection with this club – and that can only mean good things moving forward. It’s no secret that, as reported by Eurosport, Premier League side Chelsea are looking into signing a player called Alexander Isak in Sweden that is considered to be the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’.

That burning desire

That title would suggest that the original is starting to think about winding down his career, when in reality, it seems to be the exact opposite. At the age of just 37 this man is still playing with the kind of ferocity and intensity that he was for the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, which is a credit to his mind-set in the MLS.

He wants to develop this league, and most importantly, he wants an MLS Cup to his name.
