Zlatan Ibrahimovic Amazes With Overhead Kick Goal

A lot of fans talk about a lot of different ‘pieces of the puzzle’ in regards to any given team or league. They go on and on about how if a certain player wasn’t a part of that team or league, then they simply wouldn’t be able to function. Most of the time that’s a load of rubbish, and should therefore be treated as such by the masses.

When it comes to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, however, that simply isn’t the case. The Swede has been tearing a hole through Major League Soccer ever since he made his way over to Los Angeles, and he hasn’t stopped to take a breath just yet. Instead, he is surging forward with all of the momentum in the world, in an attempt to guide the Galaxy all the way back to the top.

On the way up

Up to this point in the season he’s done a pretty solid job of it, but this past weekend, they were in the most danger they’ve been in for quite some time. They found themselves 2-0 down with around 10 minutes or so to go, and spoiler warning: they weren’t able to pull it back. However, they did manage to halve the deficit with six minutes of normal time remaining, and they did so through Zlatan.

As reported by CBS Sports and MLS on Twitter, however, it wasn’t just your average everyday goal. We’ve all seen this man do some pretty remarkable things throughout the course of his career, and even that might be an understatement. Alas, his effort last night may well exceed every other highlight that has come in his iconic career – and that’s saying something.

The calmness, creativity and power that he was able to generate all in one shot is kind of staggering. He is able to take his game to a whole new level on a week to week basis, and as a result, he drags the rest of the Galaxy up to his level with him. It’s quite remarkable to see, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a trend that slows down anytime soon.

A complex player

Zlatan wasn’t able to completely inspire the comeback, but given the circumstances, it’s still worth noting that it seems like he’s capable of pulling a goal out of quite literally nowhere. As we get closer and closer towards the end of the season, and the playoffs as a result, that’s going to be a vital attribute for the LA-based club.

People have their own opinions of him as a person outside of the game, because he spends most of his time parading around calling himself one of the sport’s greatest ever players. He may well believe that and a lot of you out there reading this might too, but that doesn’t take away from how annoying he can be from time to time.

Still, if we’re strictly talking about what he’s capable of producing on the pitch, it really is difficult not to respect his game.
