Nobody Is Too Good For The MLS, Zlatan

Cristian Pavon has made a really positive impact on LA Galaxy’s squad ever since he arrived on loan at the MLS club, and as we look ahead to the future, it certainly seems as if he’s going to continue to be a big player in Major League Soccer. However, as reported by Goal and ESPN, it doesn’t appear as if everyone shares that sentiment.

“He is very good,” Ibrahimovic said of Pavon after the win over Dallas. “He is too good for MLS.”

“I think MLS will not have him for a long time,” he added. “We should enjoy him while he is here.”

Make it stop

“When you have a player like that, you don’t need to say much,” he said. “You just communicate in the game and try to make the best of it.

“He knows what he is doing. This is his second game and he was the best on the field and today he made a difference.

“I have played with many players and I see when a player is the difference, and he is the difference.”

We can kind of (not really) see the angle that the Swede is coming from here, but let’s face it, this is a bit of a slap in the face to the MLS and it’s not the first time he’s done something like this.

He insists upon putting his own ego before quite literally anything and anyone else, and we’re fed up of it. Yes, we know that’s his gimmick, but it’s time for Zlatan to realise that he isn’t in the world of professional wrestling just yet and he needs to grow up a little bit.

Nobody is too good for the MLS, and the ironic thing is that Zlatan himself serves as living, breathing proof of that. The guy seems to thrive off of this idea that controversy reigns supreme over everything, when in reality, this ‘persona’ just comes across as being incredibly arrogant.

He may not mean any harm by it, but the whole point of him being in the MLS is supposedly for him to improve the overall quality of the league. We don’t know what you guys think, but to us, it doesn’t feel like he’s doing a particularly good job.

He’s a fantastic footballer and you’ll never catch us trying to deny or get away from that fact, because even though he’s in the twilight of his career, he’s still better than a large portion of high level forwards currently plying their trade over in Europe.

However, he needs to learn what it means to show some respect. His arrogance bounces back and forth between being cute and incredibly arrogant/annoying, and we certainly feel as if he’s tilting over into the latter of the two categories right now.

You could argue that many fans are only encouraging it, and maybe we’re doing the same thing, but we just had to vent about this in one way or another.
