Will The Premier League’s Big Six Crumble This Season?

While there are plenty of things that we know for sure about the beautiful game, especially in the English Premier League, it does feel as if things are starting to get progressively more and more unpredictable as the weeks and months go on.

This season has already thrown out more shocks and surprises than we’d bargained for, and with six games gone, it’s safe to say that we should all be expecting the unexpected between now and May.

Today, we’re going to run through a handful of the candidates that we believe are capable of not only pushing into the top half – but also of making a run at the top six.

P.S: An honorable mention goes to Aston Villa and Leeds United, both of whom should have no trouble in steering away from the bottom three and towards the top ten.

Everton

Under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, Everton Football Club are a force to be reckoned with once again. The Toffees have been able to prove that they are a team worth watching this season and while that may not be enough for them to push for the title, it’s definitely going to give them a chance in regards to qualifying for the Europa League – and perhaps even higher.

Leicester

Leicester City impressed a lot of people last season and they’re already starting to do something similar this time around. Sure, you’re always going to get a weird result or too under Brendan Rodgers, but the Foxes are a tricky team to play against and they seem to be handing the mix of Premier League and Europa League football really well thus far.

Southampton

Southampton fans were really confident heading into the new season and after a few games, nobody could really understand why. Alas, the ways of Ralph Hasenhuttl are starting to pay off, and even though they’ve still got a long way to go, they have a squad that is willing to bust a gut for the crest on their shirt – and not many other teams can say that.

Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers may have lost a piece of their spark but they’re still picking up positive results in a consistent and professional manner. Their big aim now will be to work on building solid team cohesion, and if they can manage that, we could imagine a scenario in which they play in Europe again sooner rather than later.

Prediction

We believe Everton will be the ones to spoil the party and finish in the top six by the time the season comes to an end, but unfortunately for fans of the underdog, that’ll be it.

Leicester will have a solid run in the Europa League and fade domestically as a result, whereas Southampton and Wolves will just about miss out.

Still, even if what we’re saying actually happens, there’s every reason to believe that this is going to be one of the most exciting Premier League campaigns we’ve ever seen.

If that’s not enough of a reason to tune in, we don’t know what is.
