Who Will Feature In The Premier League Title Race?

The Premier League is widely recognised as one of the best leagues in world football and as we look ahead to the start of the new campaign, we’re pretty intrigued to see how things are going to play out.

The biggest question mark that always hangs over English football every year is the title race. There are often just a few select contenders, and today, we’re going to run through four sides who we believe stand a really good chance of going all the way.

Saying it and actually going through with it are two very different things, but we’re definitely intrigued to see what happens.

Manchester City

Manchester City are the reigning English champions and deservedly so. They came on so unbelievably strong in the second half of last season and anyone who claims they didn’t deserve to walk away with the trophy clearly wasn’t watching close enough.

Pep Guardiola may well put a heavy priority behind winning the Champions League which would make a whole lot of sense, given the fact he missed out so narrowly last year.  Still, this club has more than enough squad depth to thrive in pretty much every competition they compete in, as they proved by coming so close to the quadruple.

Chelsea

Chelsea managed to get to the final of the FA Cup and became European champions – all within just a few months of Thomas Tuchel taking charge. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the Blues but, understandably, the expectations behind the scenes are higher than they have been in an awfully long time.

They may not be favourites but towards the end of last season, they were beating Manchester City up at every available opportunity in the FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League. If anyone is going to slow Pep’s men down, it’s going to be Chelsea.

Liverpool

Liverpool were still Champions of England just a matter of months ago but that title has disappeared pretty quickly. Jurgen Klopp had to deal with an awful lot of injury problems last season but in reality, it still feels like a bit of an excuse given how poorly they still played – even with most of their squad intact.

The Reds will have plenty of their big names back in the mix for the start of the new campaign meaning that there’s going to be absolutely nowhere to hide.

Manchester United

Manchester United have already introduced Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to the fanbase which, in itself, is an absolutely monumental sign of their intent. They’re strong as a unit, had a good last season and can’t be counted out until the dying embers of any game.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to prove why he’s the man to guide this famous club forward and he needs to do so pretty quickly. If he doesn’t come away with some form of silverware this season, questions are going to be asked, especially after how much time he’s been given compared to van Gaal and Mourinho.
