Premier League Returns With Stacked Saturday Afternoon Schedule

The Premier League is back in our lives once again this weekend after a two-week interval due to the international break and they’re coming at us with a whole lot of intriguing fixtures.

Specifically, though, we wanted to point out the six – yes you heard that right – six games that’ll go down in the Premier League at 3pm on Saturday.

It’s the classic time slot for a top flight showdown and if nothing else, it’s great to see it so stacked after years of it being forgotten.

Watford vs Wolves

These two clubs have had a mini-rivalry of sorts dating back to their FA Cup semi-final and battle for 7th back in 2019. Now, though, you’d think they would be further apart given Watford’s relegation – but that simply isn’t the case.

The Hornets are the ones with a win on the board so far this season whereas Wolves, despite all of their best efforts, just can’t seem to stick the ball in the back of the net.

Brentford vs Brighton

It’s a battle between sides who, in more ways than one, have already exceeded expectations in the Premier League this season. The Bees are unbeaten whereas Brighton were briefly top of the table after two games.

Both will see this as a real opportunity to put on a show and we can see the pair of them really thriving in this kind of environment.

Arsenal vs Norwich

It’s a battle between two sides rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and yet, this is the kind of game that shouldn’t be anywhere near as close as the table would suggest.

The Gunners should run away with this fairly easily but the Canaries, in equal measure, want to prove they’re better than their tough schedule would suggest.

Manchester United vs Newcastle

It’s the return of the king as Cristiano Ronaldo prepares for his second debut in a Manchester United shirt. It’ll be important, it’ll be emotional, and you can bet it’s going to be dramatic.

The Red Devils should have more than enough in the tank to beat Newcastle but on an occasion like this, they really have nothing to lose.

Southampton vs West Ham

West Ham United have impressed just about everyone outside of Millwall fans so far this season and as they wait for the start of their Europa League campaign, you’d think they should back themselves to see off the challenge of the Saints.

Southampton are a significantly weakened version of what they once were and unfortunately, that’s all there really is to say for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men in this one.

Leicester vs Manchester City

Leicester City fans know they need to bounce back after an uneven start to the campaign but doing so against Manchester City is the definition of a tall order.

Pep Guardiola knows how embarrassing some of their summer transfer window misgivings were and as such, one of his primary goals will be to make a definitive statement to the rest of the league.
