The intensity of the English Premier League isn’t lost on anyone who has spent longer than five minutes watching it. This weekend, we’re set for another round of action with the majority of the clubs in the top flight being set to play.

Today, we’re going to pick out five fixtures that are particularly intriguing.

West Ham vs Everton

West Ham United are still competing in Europe but at the same time, they’re also trying to seal their place in either the Europa League or Conference League for next season. With so much going on, they can be forgiven for feeling like their resources are being stretched.

Everton need to see this as an opportunity to find success for themselves, given their current position as a relegation-threatened team. Even if they get a point from this game it’ll serve as a big boost for their survival hopes.

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Tottenham Hotspur’s ability to put a few nice wins together means they’re in a good spot heading into the final stretch of the campaign. They want Champions League football, and we don’t think it’s out of the question whatsoever.

Newcastle will probably be looking for the same thing in the years to come but for now, a top half finish is what they’ll be pursuing – and there’s every chance they could spring an upset here.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Crystal Palace look and feel like a revitalised team under Patrick Vieira and that’s a testament to just how influential he’s been since taking charge. Moving forward, they should feel pretty good about what the future holds.

Arsenal, meanwhile, can say the same for Mikel Arteta. They’re in pole position in the top four race and we’re backing them to surprise quite a few people between now and the end of the season.

Liverpool vs Watford

Liverpool are still in the title race and the pressure they’ve been putting Manchester City under is a testament to the job Jurgen Klopp is doing. Their side is strong, efficient and they’ll be heavily favoured to beat Watford.

Of course, the Hornets are scrapping for their lives and aren’t about to go down to the Championship without a fight. It’s unlikely they can get much done now but you should never say never in this league.

Man United vs Leicester

Manchester United are struggling and a top four finish doesn’t look likely. Still, they have a parade of superstars at their disposal and if they can play to their full potential, anything is possible.

Leicester City have a few games in hand and are still in with a shout of a European trophy in the Conference League. Sure, it hasn’t been a great season for Brendan Rodgers’ men, but they’re flying under the radar with five wins in their last seven.
