Five Premier League Games To Watch Out For This Weekend

Following on from the final international break before the World Cup, domestic football is back as we prepare for a whole host of action across Europe and beyond.

Arguably the most exciting action, of course, will come in the English Premier League, where things are really beginning to heat up in the last few days and weeks prior to the winter spectacular actually getting underway.

Today, we’re going to take a look at five fun fixtures you should be keeping an eye out for this weekend.

Arsenal vs Tottenham

It’s the North London derby and really, there isn’t much more of a selling point than that, because this is one of the fiercest rivalries in the English game and that won’t settle anytime soon.

Both sides have looked incredible so far this season with Arsenal being top and Tottenham being 3rd, and with just one loss between them, we can expect some long-awaited fireworks.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

The Manchester derby is one of those derbies whereby you need to well and truly throw out the rule book, because nobody knows what’ll happen when United and City actually meet.

United have been on a strong run of form lately and while City have had their ups and downs, at least more than they’re used to as one of the best teams in world football, they always have Haaland.

Leicester vs Nottingham Forest

The East Midlands derby is the latest meeting on this weekend between rivalries and honestly, we aren’t sure which way it’ll go between these two historic English clubs.

Brendan Rodgers is on his last legs as manager, Forest have done okay but still largely struggled to start the season, and they haven’t met at this level in a long, long time. Tune in, for sure.

Leeds vs Aston Villa

This isn’t a local derby by any stretch but it’s definitely a battle between two clubs in Leeds United and Aston Villa that haven’t exactly gotten along over the years.

Villa need something to inject some life back into their campaign and Leeds, who are situated nicely in midtable right now, just need to keep things steady in what should be a fun scrap.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

The results may not be there to show it just yet, but Crystal Palace are one of the most consistently entertaining teams in the league – and they have Patrick Vieira’s creativity to thank for that.

On the flip side, Chelsea are struggling to make waves, but they’ll hope their new manager Graham Potter can turn the ship around. Yes, that’s the same Graham Potter who just left Palace’s rivals.
