A Huge Set Of Midweek Premier League Games

It’s time for the Premier League to play catch up following a number of postponements due to COVID-19 throughout the course of the season. This week, we’re going to see a whole host of really important fixtures – both for the top of the table to the bottom of the table.

Today, we’re going to take a look at some results and upcoming games that could have real implications for how things end up after everyone has played 38.

Liverpool 4-0 Manchester United

Liverpool are known for being one of the best clubs in world football and last night, they proved that in one of the most emphatic manners imaginable as they dismantled Manchester United 4-0 at Anfield.

The Red Devils have a lot of problems they need to resolve and Ralf Rangnick isn’t going to be able to do it on his own. This summer is huge for the club and if they don’t get it right, things could somehow go from bad to worse.

Everton vs Leicester

Everton have the advantage over Burnley in the race to beat the drop but Frank Lampard almost certainly isn’t going to survive beyond the summer – and he needs to ensure their safety, if only for the future of the club.

Leicester will be focusing most of their attention on what’s happening in the Conference League because if they can win that, European football next season is back on the cards.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Chelsea are still firmly positioned as a top three club and will almost certainly be playing Champions League football next season. In addition to that, they’ve also got the FA Cup final against Liverpool to look forward to.

Arsenal,  on the other hand, need to use this game in hand wisely. A win here will put them level on points with Tottenham in fourth and from that point, they should back themselves to rebuild some lost momentum.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace

Newcastle United know that they don’t have a whole lot left to play for this season and if anything, Palace are one of the clubs they’ll be battling with in an unlikely surge to finish in the top half of the table.

The Eagles are flying high under Patrick Vieira and even though their 13th place spot may not highlight that, progress has been made. After all, they did just make it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Manchester City vs Brighton

Manchester City need to keep on winning because based on what we’ve seen, Liverpool aren’t going to give them an inch. Pep Guardiola’s men are more than good enough to walk past every single remaining opponent they have but, as we know, they’ve fallen victim to complacency before.

Brighton & Hove Albion are unbeaten in their last three with Graham Potter getting them back to where they were in the first half of the campaign. A top half finish is what they deserve and another bright summer could quite easily lead to them going after Europe, as unlikely as it may feel to some.
