Today is National Letter of Intent Day. The NCAA requires all D-1 and D-2 colleges athletes to commit if they plan on attending a school of that level by February 4th. D-3 schools do not give scholarships and therefore do not need to sign a letter of commitment.
Inside Minnesota Soccer has been tracking the college prospects for both boys and girls soccer in Minnesota for the last month. NCAA rules do not allow college coaches to talk about the signings until after Letter of Intent day. Information on these athletes can be sketchy, inaccurate and hard to come by until the signing day.
Inside Minnesota Soccer has put together a list of players from Minnesota. The list could have certain facts wrong. If you would like to correct an error or add someone who is not on the list, please feel free to contact me through the ‘Contact’ spot on in the upper right hand corner of this site.
Wednesday morning, the Minnesota Thunder Academy will be hosting its first ever National Letter of Intent Signing Day Party for all players attending NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Colleges or Universities on scholarship. This year MTA has 30 girls and 3 boys who will be signing letters of intent. The club will be hosting a signing event at 7:00AM at the Thunder Office on February 4th. Members of the media have been invited and breakfast will be served. IMS will be attending and conducting some interviews.
IMS would also like to thank the numerous community clubs, directors and coaches throughout Minnesota who have helped many of these players rise to the level of competency to play for the MN Thunder Academy and who will now move onto play division 1 and 2 college soccer. Congratulations to you all!
